Christopher Fischer, MD

Dr. Christopher Fischer graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Biology, received his Master of Science in Financial Analysis from the University of San Francisco, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles.  He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Southern California, and in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of California, Davis.  He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry, with subspecialty board certifications in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry.

Dr. Fischer is trained and experienced in the psychiatric evaluation and management of children, adolescents, and adults.  He currently provides psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient settings both in a community clinic and in his private practice.

Dr. Fischer has performed numerous forensic psychiatric evaluations and has been qualified as an expert in the field of psychiatry in California.  Dr. Fischer’s areas of forensic interest include psychiatric injury associated with trauma, juvenile and adult civil and criminal competencies, criminal responsibility, child neglect and sexual abuse allegations, developmental considerations in forensic evaluations, violence risk assessments for juvenile and adult offenders, juveniles as witnesses, medical/psychiatric malpractice, testamentary capacity and undue influence, malingering, disability evaluations, and fitness for duty evaluations.  Dr. Fischer is a volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Davis.

Dr. Fischer has been an independent contractor with fpamed since 2025.
