Christine Naber, PhD

Dr. Christine M. Naber holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She completed her internship at the Southwest Consortium in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Albuquerque Veteran’s Administration, University of New Mexico, Indian Health Services, and Charter Heights Hospital) with a focus on neuropsychology and cross-cultural psychology. She also obtained post-doctoral training in neuropsychology and rehabilitation at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and North Coast Health Care Centers in Santa Rosa, CA. She has been licensed as a psychologist in California since 1998.

Dr. Naber’s private practice specializes in adult and geriatric neuropsychology, as well as criminal and civil forensic neuropsychological and psychological evaluations. She has worked as a plaintiff and/or defense expert in Sonoma, Lake, Napa, Humboldt, Amador, San Francisco, and Marin County courts, as well as served as a court appointed expert in multiple criminal cases in the County of Sonoma. She has been involved in hundreds of civil and criminal matters, involving personal injury, emotional distress, sexual abuse, PTSD, wrongful death, sexual harassment, employment litigation, disability, worker’s compensation, testamentary capacity, undue influence, financial/medical capacity, capacity to proceed to trial/sentencing, criminal responsibility, and malingering, among others.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Naber works as a neuropsychologist and training director in the Department of Neurology at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa. She has taught scores of graduate students in neuropsychology, with a particular emphasis on assessment of neuropsychological conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, movement disorders, and infectious diseases, as well as differential diagnosis of dementia. She received a Community Benefit Research Grant from Kaiser to assist with research on treatment of vestibular disorders and has participated in other research projects related to migraines.

Dr. Naber is a member of multiple professional associations, including the American Psychological Association, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society. She has also served in various professional board positions for the Redwood Psychological Association, including Vice President, President, and Legislative Advocacy Representative to the California Psychological Association. She helped spearhead the creation of an evidenced-based model to address community mental health after the Northern California wildfires in 2017, which was honored by the California Psychological Association. She has been invited to speak on forensic neuropsychology at multiple professional association and community meetings, as well as to the California State Bar and the Sonoma County Public Defender’s and District Attorney’s Offices.
