Dr. Ambarin Faizi is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry with added qualification in Forensic Psychiatry and serves as a forensic expert/consultant in a wide range of criminal and civil cases. She completed her forensic psychiatry fellowship training at the University of California, Davis after residency training in general psychiatry at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. She received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Riverside.

Dr. Faizi serves as a qualified mental health expert for multiple counties and provides evaluations and testimony in issues involving mental disorders, violence risk, sanity, competency to stand trial, malingering, sex offenders and sexual violence risk, and substance use disorders. Her interests in civil litigation include medical malpractice and standard of care in various clinical settings, psychiatric damage, disability, testamentary capacity, and sexual harassment. She has broad clinical experience in correctional facilities, state hospitals, psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, and private psychiatric practice. In addition to her forensic and clinical work, Dr. Faizi is currently in a leadership role in the development and implementation of community-based mental health diversion programs and is involved in the interplay of legislation and policy advocacy at different levels of government. She enjoys supervising and teaching residents and medical students and delivers educational presentations at national conferences, to physician groups, judges, attorneys, residents at her local residency programs, and the community.

Dr. Faizi is an active contributing member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL).

Her language proficiencies include Urdu and Hindi.
